Virgina's Democratic Senator, Joe Manchin. He announced that he would not vote for any climate change bill measures, to include alternate energy development. Also, he refuses to discuss the taxation of a minimum 15% international corporate tax rate, contrary to his previous statements. Without Manchin's 50th Senate vote, President Biden may soon be labeled owner of a lame duck administration. Given recent polling, President Biden is at an all time low of 39% favorable rating. A NY Times poll reflects 64% of Democrats do not want Joe Biden to run for a second term. Like President Carter, high inflation and gas prices lend to these numbers.
