The Book of James wants us to understand that it is God’s desire that ordinary believers be powerful in prayer. You don’t need a saint or The Virgin Mary to intercede on your behalf. You yourself, have tremendous influence for God. You can come before God in confidence that He hears your prayers. James encourages us to pray when things are going wrong and when we face challenges and troubles, but also when things are going well. “Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry?
