Rev. Mike Cavanaugh, former President of EBIC, speaks to us about how to deal with disappointments. One of the reasons ministers burn out is that they don't know how to handle and process disappointments. Rev. Mike affirms that "disappointments come from sadness or displeasure caused by the non-fulfillment of one’s hopes or expectations.” He prefaces that in life, disappointment is unavoidable, so it comes down to a matter of management. Rev. Mike mentions that the best way to fight against disappointments is by filling our hearts with gratitude, knowing that God uses these situations to work in us and help us grow, and trusting the wisdom of God because He knows what is best for us.
