President's Sister Sparks Controversy | Belfast News

Dr. Margaret Connolly, President Biden’s sister, unleashed a fiery critique of U.S. policy in Gaza during a recent interview, accusing the U.S. of genocide and calling for accountability — even lambasting Ireland’s Taoiseach for visiting the White House with shamrocks. Her comments came amid the President’s own visit to Ireland, amplifying the controversy. Known for her activism — including detention by Israeli forces while delivering aid to Gaza — this wasn’t her first bold move. In response, Taoiseach Micheál Martin affirmed citizens’ right to protest, even if family members hold office, while Tánaiste Simon Harris praised Dr. Connolly’s dignified conduct as head of state, clearly distancing her personal views from official positions. The episode highlights the delicate balance between free expression and political decorum. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
