Presilah Nunez- Talks The Evolution Of Her Auditioning Process & The Importance Of Being A Well Rounded Person In Order To Bring Depth To Your Characters
from The Actors Lounge · host Melanie Victor
Born in Salem, Massachusetts to Dominican parents, Presilah Nunez is an actress/ singer by day and pseudo Instastory chef by night. Presilah started performing at a very young age and at 18 years old she deferred her college plans of studying forensic psychology to take a leap of faith in becoming a “real life” performer in NYC. Within a year she was cast in an in- ternational production of "Fame: The Musical" that toured mainland China for a few months and a production of "Grease" that played in Istanbul, Turkey. Upon her return to the states, Presilah was cast in the national tour of "In The Heights”, the Tony Award winning musical written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, in which she was blessed to play her dream role, “Vanessa”. After completing that tour, she moved to LA where she’s now resided for nearly a decade (but she’ll always be an east-coaster at heart). /a few of her TV credits include: NCIS, MacGyver, Hawaii 5-O, Designated Survivor, Dear White People and she also played the role of “Erica” in Tyler Perry’s “The Haves and The Have Nots” for several sea- sons. Aside from being a professional storyteller, Presilah enjoys learning Italian, binge watch- ing British crime dramas, and promoting her passion for childhood literacy by being a faithful volunteer at Reading to Kids- a grassroots organization that is dedicated to inspiring under- served children in the LA community with a love of reading.
