Press and the media

The theme for this discussion show is the press and media, taken from two distinct perspectives. In the first part of the show, the focus is the tragically topical subject of the freedom of the press, so widely discussed in the wake of the killings at the French newspaper Charlie Hebdo. This is followed by an examination what the responsibilities of the press are in choosing what to report, in particular with regard to the power of the media to set the agenda for public debates. Our regular ‘loose thread’ section of the show will be about discrimination and violence towards homosexuals in India.
