Press Play 2024

This ABC News Radio special spotlights the thrills and skills that make up so much of our “play.” Host Jason Nathanson suits up with viral baseball sensation The Savannah Bananas, often referred to as the Harlem Globetrotters of baseball. We spend time with them as they rehearse their TikTok dances, practice trick plays, and get ready to bring joy and laughter to a sold-out stadium crowd in Fresno, California. Plus, we time-travel back to 1886 with a baseball league that plays without helmets, barely a mitt, and rules that most of us never knew existed. Have the need for speed? We strap into the cockpit of a Formula 1 car with the only American on the grid. Then, ahead of the summer games, we mount up with the men and women of the US equestrian team, and we try our hand at “breaking,” one of the newest Olympic events. Learn more about your ad choices.
