The pressure of purpose… I kind of wish I had never been told that I was special, or talented, or that I would do great things on a grand scale because expectation gets tied into that and pressure comes out of expectation. But what creates pressure around purpose? Is it our lack of self-worth trying to prove something? Is it society’s constant dangling of the carrot in front of our noses saying we’re not enough until we achieve more? Or is it the knowing of our soul’s mission that relentlessly pushes us towards our potential? Maybe it’s all three and more. I don’t have the answer but I can offer a conversation around so that maybe you feel less alone under your own pressure.
