Pretty On The Inside
from Magic Portals
<3 Hole was an American alternative rock band that formed in Los Angeles, California in 1989 by singer and guitarist Courtney Love and lead guitarist Eric Erlandson. The band had a revolving line-up of bassists and drummers, their most prolific being drummer Patty Schemel, and bassists Kristen Pfaff (d. 1994) and Melissa Auf der Maur. Influenced by Los Angeles’ punk rock scene, the band garnered critical acclaim for their frenetic debut album, Pretty on the Inside(1991), produced by Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth. The album features distorted and alternating guitar compositions, screaming vocals, a style which the band would later distance themselves from, opting for a less abrasive sound on their subsequent releases. Love’s lyrics on the album are often narrative, graphic, and abstract, detailing issues of violence, self-realisation, and womanhood. The record was dedicated to Rob Ritter of the Los Angeles punk rock acts Bags and The Gun Club. <3 Ep 31 http://joy.org.au/magicportals/wp-content/uploads/sites/350/2017/08/Episode-31_mixdown.mp3 00:00:53 – Hole – Teenage Whore 00:06:23 – Hole – Babydoll 00:12:10 – Hole – Garbage Man 00:15:45 – Hole – Sassy 00:24:14 – Hole – Mrs Jones 00:30:30 – Hole – Berry 00:34:25 – Hole – Loaded 00:38:42 – Hole – Starbelly 00:49:24 – Hole – Pretty On The Inside 00:54:47 – Pagan Babies – Best Sunday Dress Transitional Audio Clips Hole – Pretty On The Inside Interview 1991 – YouTube Hole – Repido Interview 1992 – YouTube Early 90s Courtney Love Interview – YouTube Hole – Courntey Love Interviews + Live Clips 91 – 93 – YouTube The post Pretty On The Inside appeared first on Magic Portals.
