Preview of the 149th Open at Royal St. George's (RG80)

As the title suggests, we spend most of this week’s episode previewing the highly-anticipated Open Championship, back after being cancelled in 2020. As per usual, Brent takes us through the historic course, some design elements that make it unique, as well as some notable holes to watch out for. While the weather forecast for the weekend isn’t looking too harsh, this course is a great example of true links golf in the most traditional sense and should be a real test for the field. We do things a bit differently with this preview when it comes to breaking down the field. Rather than devoting too much time on the big names who you’ll surely know plenty about, John takes us a bit deeper down the field list and helps identify some great value picks for the week. We also take a look at players who have seen success in their careers playing the Open and find a few stats that will lead to success at St. George’s.
