Previewing Nebraska Football's Offense For 2023 + Fall Camp Questions | Nebraska Football 2023
from College Football with Sam · host Samuel Recker
Fall Camp just started for Matt Rhule and the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and there are many questions to be answered before Week 1's matchup at Minnesota. Today, we will be discussing Nebraska football's offense and what I think its strengths and weaknesses are entering 2023. I believe this offense can be explosive and dynamic in year one because of Jeff Sims and a deep running back and wide receiver room. The offensive line brings in transfer center Ben Scott from Arizona State and finally has Nouredin Nouili in the starting lineup after he was suspended last year due to a failed PED test. However, I still think the offensive line will be the biggest weakness of this team due to years of poor recruiting and development. The only way to fix this offensive line is by bringing in new players and cycling out old ones, which will take some time. Outside of the offensive line, the tight end has the potential to be a high-ceiling group if Thomas Fidone can stay healthy and if Arik Gilbert can get on the field. Fidone and Gilbert were both the No.1 ranked tight end coming out of high school, but their careers have been underwhelming due to injuries and off-the-field issues. Marcus Washington, Bill Kemp IV, Zavier Betts, and Isaiah Garcia-Casteneda should make up one of the Big Ten's better wide receiver groups. I expect Washington to be the Husker's best receiver, but Killy Kemp the IV had nearly 1,000 yards and 6 touchdowns in 2021, and Zavier Betts has elite athletic potential. There are plenty of questions surrounding Nebraska Football, but do not be surprised if this offense comes out with the athleticism of a cheetah and the mentality of a lion. This offense has an upside, especially in the passing game. Leave a like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell for more of the best College Football content!
