Welcome to another episode of Y11 Audio; and welcome to Previews Weeks! Let’s preview everything that EMU and the Mid-American Conference have to offer this season in the three weeks leading up to 2024’s season kickoff. Special teamers: forget them not. Eastern Michigan’s made special teams a big priority for itself over the years. And rightfully so. These are the players that highlight the program-defining moments (hello, wins at Illinois and Purdue) and help define very overlooked aspects of the game. Offense scores and defense makes stops, but special teams determine everybody’s field position before those units hit the field. Mitch Tomasek and Jesus Gomez were born with steel toes, and having both of them back for their third seasons will bode well for this team, of course.
