Pride and Prejudice Chapter XIII

In which we are introduced to the peculiar Mr. Collins, a clergyman and heir to the Bennet family's estate, whose arrival at Longbourn elicits a mixture of curiosity, apprehension, and polite civility from its inhabitants. His formal manners, excessive deference to Lady Catherine, and obsequious behaviour provide fertile ground for both amusement and unease among the Bennet ladies.
