Pride Revisited

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.” (John 3:16-17) We have heard it said that we have eternal life in God’s Son. So then, what stops us from trusting that simple message? Pride! Pride works in so many creative ways. Many, thinking they are being humble, can conclude that they are not yet worthy of God’s Life. That is in fact, pride. Others are so proud of not having to think about this issue they don’t. Some exercise anger toward God for not saving them by their methods. The list goes on. Humanity stumbles over pride. Father, I am humbled and convinced You don’t need my pride. Okay then, here it is. I am humbled that You love me.
