Primary runoff elections solidify November ballots

John Cornyn’s tenure as a U.S. senator representing Texas will end with his current term, after his loss May 26 in the Republican Party primary runoff against current Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Paxton outpolled incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in Wilson County and across the state, securing his party’s nomination to run for U.S. Senate. He’ll face Democrat James Talarico in November.
