Private school accused of defying court order over excluded matric pupils
from Kaya 959 · host Phemelo Motene
A Johannesburg private school is back in court after allegedly failing to fully comply with a High Court order to reinstate two Grade 12 learners who were excluded over unpaid school fees. While the pupils have returned to class, SECTION27 says they have not been fully reintegrated and remain unregistered for their final IEB matric exams, despite a court order and the registration fees being paid. The organisation is now seeking to have the school and its directors held in contempt of court. Phemelo speaks to SECTION27 candidate attorney Jonathan West about the legal battle and what it means for the learners' right to education. www.kaya959.co.za · Kayafm
