The article argues that C2PA’s content-bound manifests can be separated from assets during ordinary transformations and that its official trust model still depends on approved certificate authorities. It proposes locally held, append-only and tamper-evident system logs as a stronger model for recording autonomous-agent actions. C2PA does support both embedded and externally stored manifests, as well as soft bindings intended to reconnect altered assets with provenance records.
