Research has shown marijuana has its benefits and negatives and it causes less harm than liquor, yet, it is still criminalized in the country while liquor is legally sold on every corner. Problematic? Indeed! Marijuana is the most commonly used psychotropic drug in the United States, after alcohol and more than 11.8 million young adults reported marijuana use in the past year. Its use is more prevalent among men than women.  About MJ: Indica, which originates from the Hindu Kush mountains of India, is believed to have a relaxing effect on the user. Sativa has a more energizing effect, while hybrid is a combination of the two.
