Problem #38: 'Nobody wins when the family feuds'

from I Got Problems! · host Sandra & Co.

From Jay-Z's album 4:44, the title of the episode was borrowed to shed light on IGP for discussions on why and how the Black community continues to create division amongst ourselves in various ways. From the FBI's Universal Crime Report in 2014; 90% of Black people killed were killed by other Black people. Black women are killed every 19 hours by a man. Black girls are being deprived of their innocence due to the over-sexualization of their existence. During the slave-era in the U.S., Black women were referred to as Jezebels. The term was used to suggest that Black women were innately promiscuous and sexually predatory. It was conceived that Black women had an insatiable appetite for sex, which slave owners used as a justification for rape. We will touch on a few current events as examples of the division created that further separate Black people from succeeding together.  Resources: How to support BLM: https://www.timeout.com/things-to-do/how-to-support-black-lives-matter Black mental health resources: https://twitter.com/testtubeplush/status/1337231680679993344 Therapy Sources: Primary Care Physician, IG: @Betterhelp, Employee assistance programs and therapyforblackgirls.com Self defense: https://beyonddefense.net OTHER LINKS: https://abcnews.go.com/amp/US/black-black-crime-loaded-controversial-phrase-heard-amid/story?id=72051613 https://marquettewire.org/4041391/featured/moses-oversexualization-of-black-girls-women-must-stop/ https://archive.thinkprogress.org/what-happened-when-scientists-put-african-americans-on-an-african-diet-and-africans-on-an-american-5b5c5aec6e1e/ https://www.bbrfoundation.org/blog/everyday-mental-health-tips Socials: Interact with us!
