Products Of The Panic: Hell’s Bells – Dangers of Rock ‘N Roll (1989) with Troy Brownfield, Part Two
We return with part 2 of our Hell’s Bells discussion. Hell’s Bells is a 3 hour documentary that goes after the rock and 80s heavy metal scene as well as just general pop music. It’s available to watch on YouTube or Archive.org. It’s insane to believe that this was made and hear the things said in it. And Troy and I do not hold back on our reactions and thoughts. This half of the film includes some wild accusatory statements as well as a focus on backmasking. Backmasking is basically hidden messages put in reverse on records. The things they come up with here are absolutely batty too. We had plenty of fun with this part. “Products of the Panic” a recurring segment on this podcast. Show regular Troy Brownfield (The Saturday Evening Post) and I use this series to take a look at some of the media and propaganda created during the height of the Satanic Panic in the 1980s. Troy is very much an expert in the field and we’ve discussed it on more than one occasion. -Brandon The Brandon Peters Show will return Wednesday (11/17) with Old Space Show TECHNICAL INFORMATION VocalsBrandon – Shure SM58-LCTroy – Laptop Microphone (Recorded with Zoom) Post ProductionNCH Wavepad Masters Edition v8.38NCH MixPad Masters v5.22The Levelator 2 RUNTIME: 64 min Hell’s Bells: Dangers of Rock ‘N Roll is available on archive.org.
