Anantha Duraiappah is the director of UNESCO’s Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable development (MGIEP). It is located in New Delhi, India—UNESCO’s first category 1 institute in the Asia-Pacific region. He is a Fellow of the World Academy of Arts and Sciences (WAAS), a Founding Fellow of the Human Development and Capability Association and a visiting Professor at the University of Tokyo, Japan.
