Professor Shabir Madhi

The first clinical trial in South Africa and on the continent for a Covid-19 vaccine was announced today, 23 June 2020. As of today there are 168 thousand confirmed covid 19 cases with just under 3 000 deaths and most importantly 81 000 recoveries. For our one on one lets welcome the man who has the enormous task of leading the team of experts and scientists in the covid 19 vaccine trial Professor Shabir Madhi who is a Professor of Vaccinology at the University of the Witwatersrand. Wits University is collaborating with the University of Oxford and the Oxford Jenner Institute on the South African trial.
