L’inquinamento dell’aria in Pianura Padana è alle stelle. E al netto delle polemiche sulle classifiche, a Milano certamente non si respira a pieni polmoni in tutta tranquillità. Ma la verità è che nessuno può farsi davvero bello perché tra polveri sottili e biossido di azoto le città faticano a migliorare la qualità dell’aria e la salute dei cittadini è in serio pericolo. In questo quadro così compromesso è fondamentale invertire la rotta agendo sulle fonti principali dell’inquinamento: emissioni di industria e agricoltura, traffico veicolare, riscaldamento degli edifici. Ma un contributo importante può arrivare dalla presenza del verde in città. E anche qui l’Italia non è messa bene. La densità di verde pubblico rispetto alla superficie comunale spesso non supera il 5% del territorio. Quanto e come riforestare le nostre grigie città? Ne parliamo con Silvia Brini, responsabile della valutazione ambiente urbano dell’Ispra. Più fiori e più parchi allora. Secondo precisi criteri però, come spiega Francesco Ferrini, docente di Arboricoltura all’Università di Firenze.
