Progotron RL host show 026 (Progressing Music)
from Progotron Hosted by Radio Gordo
I am stepping outside of my usual focus on prog rock of the '70s to explore music that progressed the styles of its genre. From the audio collage experimentation of "Revolution 9" to the pioneering electronic work of Gary Numan and others, the early sampling by Afrika Bambaataa laying the groundwork for hip-hop to the densely layered sampling of DJ Shadow pioneering the genre of trip-hop, to the birth of heavy metal to two very divergent paths within that genre...this show is about Progressing Music.
