Letos decembra bo minilo 50 let odkar so se astronavti nazadnje sprehajali po površju našega edinega naravnega satelita. 14. decembra leta 1972 se je posadka Apolla 17 pod vodstvom poveljnika Gena Cernana poslovila od Lune in to je bil konec najbolj velikopoteznega in najdražjega vesoljskega programa v zgodovini človeštva. Obisk Meseca je mnogim vliv upanje na skorajšnjo kolonizacijo, ne le Lune, temveč kar Osončja. Toda izkazalo se je, da je bil program Apollo izjemno drag projekt, ki nam je prinesel premalo praktičnih koristi. Tako si podobnega podviga vse do danes ni privoščila nobena druga država. Leta 2017 pa je ameriška NASA naznanila začetek programa Artemis. Končno naj bi se človeštvo vrnilo na Mesec, pri čemer pa naj bi tokrat to nebesno telo osvojili trajno. Pri vsem tem, pa naj bi bil projekt Artemis le odskočna deska za veliko bolj ambicijozen projekt. Kakšni pa so pravzaprav cilji programa Artemis? Kako bo potekala njegova izvedba? Kdo vse sodeluje v tem projektu? In ali Artemis res pomeni začetek kolonizacije vesolja?
