Progressive Sounds 39 Part 2 - Guest Mix: Solis Occasum

from Progressive Sounds · host Sebastian Campo

Solis Occasum is a Canadian DJ and aspiring producer who has been a passionate electronic music fan since he was a child. He always had his ear glued to the radio in the nineties, recording hundreds of songs he discovered on volumes of cassettes. Early influences were wide ranging - from Beastie Boys and Ace of Base to Phats & Small, Jamiroquai and Daft Punk. His interest in DJing really picked up steam in 2012 as he began working in the vibrant Toronto underground scene. Being young and reckless meant he never fully committed himself to his own music, instead choosing to absorb and appreciate the experiences that the top DJs who came to the city could provide. Now married and with two kids, his focus has shifted. No longer active in the club scene, his Nativis podcast is a passion project that connects him with fellow emerging DJs from around the world. He has also undertaken the task of learning how to produce music, and now focuses mainly on his own personal growth and development. The goals are simple – continuous learning, meaningful connection with others, the sharing of ideas, and always having an appreciation for the uncertainty of what comes next. Leon Lobato - The Place (Original Mix) Francisco Basso - Alba (Nicolas Viana Remix) Jelly for the Babies & Ignacio Corazza - My Heart is Heavy (djimboh Remix) Namatjira - About Last Night (Erdi Irmak Remix) Molac - Sachahuarmi (Original Mix) Arina Mur - Sea View (Original Mix) Greg Ochman - Xceed Imaginations (Death on the Balcony Extended Remix) Joseph Crime & Nikgrech - Callisto (Agustin Pengov Remix) Arco - Indigo Wave (Original Mix) Pambouk - Hopeless Words (Original Mix)
