This was my first session after moving to London. I remember mixing it on a grey day in Bethnal Green, so I assume Andie Tickner and I had just taken up residence at City View House. I had just started working at Kiss 100 and was enjoying discovering London’s record shops. From memory, I think was mixed for Matt Fowler as a bit of thank you for letting me stay at theirs until I got sorted with a flat. I debated whether to upload this mix because the mixing’s pretty ropey through the first few tracks (what was I thinking of? must have been smoking while recording...) but, given that this is meant to be a comprehensive archive, the tunes should be allowed an airing for their tenth anniversary! In 1999 Cassisus had released his first album, Defected records were throwing us their first beautifully packaged 12”s and Van Helden hit No. 1 with udon’tknowme.
