Promise Keeping

When we do what we say we'll do, we embody God's promise-keeping faithfulness, thrive in Him, and point our world to Him.    33 "Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn.' 34 But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, 35 or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. 36 And do not take an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. 37 Let what you say be simply 'Yes' or 'No'; anything more than this comes from evil. Matthew 5:31-32     Would those who know you best say you generally do what you say, or that there's a disconnect between what you say and do? What have you said "yes" to without following through? (e.g. in a relationship, at work, financially, etc). Who is affected by your broken promise? What will you do to make things right, if possible? What specific "yes" is God calling you to follow through on today as you seek to make your "yes" mean "yes" and your "no" mean "no?" What things do you need to start saying "no" to because you generally don't follow through on things?
