Promontory eighth graders put Revolutionary War issues on trial

Eighth-grade students at Promontory School of Expeditionary Learning brought the American Revolution to life with a mock trial held in the historic Old Court Room at the Box Elder County Building. The interdisciplinary project centered on the Boston Tea Party and the Boston Massacre. In social studies, U.S. history teacher Katie Hammer guided students through the political tensions, key events and primary source documents of the early Revolutionary era. In English language arts, teacher Anjannette Darrington instructed students in persuasive writing, rhetoric, evidence analysis and public speaking.
