Protecting the People Who Matter Most in Your Life (Part 1)

from The Breakthrough Entrepreneurs · host Mohammed Faraj

Send us Fan MailEntrepreneurship is not just about building a business. It’s also about building yourself and the relationships around you. In this episode, I talk about how holding on to resentment, anger, or negativity can pull us back into an old version of ourselves. I share personal experiences of how I used to replay the past, hold onto disappointments, and waste energy on things that didn’t serve me. The truth is, entrepreneurs don’t have the luxury of staying stuck in unhealthy patterns. If we want to grow in business and life, we have to train ourselves to let go, choose healthier habits, and align with the best version of ourselves. Sometimes life happens. People make mistakes maybe unconsciously, maybe not on purpose and instead of giving them grace, we find ourselves disappointed, frustrated, and even resentful. I know this from personal experience. For a long time, I had a bad habit of constantly looking back at the past and replaying situations over and over again. Something small that happened years ago would trigger negative thoughts, emotions, and stress, and I would hold on to it unnecessarily. That only pulled me back into the old version of myself the one filled with negativity, anger, and wasted energy. But the truth is, entrepreneurs don’t have the luxury of staying stuck in those unhealthy patterns. If we want to grow in business and in life, we have to train ourselves to let go of resentment and choose new habits that keep us aligned with our best self. That might be meditation, taking a short walk, listening to uplifting music, or reminding ourselves of the version we are working to become. Friendship, just like family, should be built on kindness, empathy, passion, commitment, and accountability. It’s about staying consistent in your love, care, and compassion, even when things go wrong. People in your circle matter. They are not in your life temporarily; they are part of your journey, part of your growth, and part of your story. And just like family, they deserve to be treated with respect, patience, and love. As entrepreneurs, we lead by example. We show real leadership when we continue to support, accept, and love the people around us even when things aren’t perfect. Because the truth is, business success without meaningful, loving, and supportive relationships feels empty. What I’ve learned from my own life is that people in my circle are not just acquaintances. They are people I should hold onto, stand with, and support every step of the way. That’s what gives meaning to friendships, family, and business connections. When we protect those relationships, we don’t just become better entrepreneurs we become better human beings.  _____________________________________This episode is a must-listen for anyone who feels like they're constantly striving but never fully arriving.
