Protest action at various universities in the country

SAfm — The SRC at DUT is calling on management to attend to students' issues, including financial aid, accommodation and transport. Classes at UKZN, Mangosuthu University of Technology and the University of Zululand were also disrupted. Meanwhile, in Gauteng, the Wits University's students' representative council has condemned management for its use of private security. They say private security officials on campus are victimizing and intimidating students who are protesting over accommodation and registration-related issues.
