Proud Boys, Oath Keepers J6 Convictions & Doordash Boycotts

Virginia has joined the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, agreeing to award its presidential electors to the national popular vote winner, not just its state winner. With Virginia’s 13 electoral votes, the compact now controls 222 of the 270 votes needed to activate it. The compact takes effect only once enough states join, and legal challenges are expected as it aims to bypass the Electoral College.  The Justice Department is moving to vacate some convictions and sentences for members of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers tied to the January 6 Capitol attack. The shift reflects a reassessment of certain charges and penalties, reopening debate over accountability and how the federal government prosecutes extremist groups.  Calls to boycott DoorDash are spreading online after critics accused the company of being linked to a staged campaign appearance by Donald Trump at a McDonald’s.
