Proud To Run Workout #9 Alternate Universe – Dubstep, Trance, Progressive Vocals

from Running To the Beat Podcast · host Peter Canellis

This weeks mix “Alternate Universe” is an awesome “Tempo Run“. Also called threshold runs, this is a run performed at the fastest pace you can sustain for a specified period of time. These workouts help you increase sustained speed and the amount of time you can maintain that pace. They are very challenging runs that require some time to recover from afterward. The best way to figure out the speed you can run is to focus on your breathing – you should be able to talk in broken sentences but not be able to carry on a full conversation or be gasping for air. Example: 1 mile of jogging to warm up, followed by 3 miles at the fastest pace that can be sustained, followed by 1 mile of jogging to cool down. Alternate Universe is an excellent mix for race training.  The music starts of with a great remix of Black Parade by My Chemical Romance remixed by Steve Aoki and then goes into some killer EDM.  The tempo and energy are consistent throughout the mix.  As always enjoying the musical experience while running is the essential element of Running To The Beat.  Why? Because you will get lost in the music, workout harder, longer and have fun! Featured Songs: * Black Parade – My Chemical Romance, Steve Aoki * Lovingly – Oliver Smith * The Last Dancer – Armin Van Burren * My Own Hymn – Above & Beyond, Alpha 9, Zoe Johnston * Rain Upon My Skin – Airwave * Tumbler – Thomas Gold * Since You’ve Been Gone – Novaspace, Joseph Vincent Musically Yours, Peter Canellis
