Proverbs 27 & Job 20

Wisdom Daily Meditation brings us to Proverbs 27 and Job 20, where Scripture draws our attention to wise relationships, honest counsel, humility about tomorrow, and the temporary nature of earthly success. Proverbs 27 highlights the value of faithful friendship and honest correction, reminding us that a wise person welcomes the kind of counsel that sharpens character. Job 20 presents Zophar’s response to Job, describing the apparent prosperity of the wicked and its eventual passing, even as Job’s circumstances remain difficult and his friends struggle to understand what God is doing. Together, these chapters invite us to consider what voices are shaping our perspective and what we are placing our confidence in. Human success can be temporary, circumstances can be difficult to interpret, and tomorrow remains outside our control. Yet wise relationships, honest examination, faithful stewardship, and humility can help keep our attention anchored where it belongs.
