Proverbs 3:7-8, Consistently Choose Wisdom

The wise father warns his son against the deadly trap of self-reliance. Those who think themselves wise in their own eyes become blind to truth, preferring distortion over understanding and selfish ambition over humility. Their arrogance spreads disorder and destruction in every direction.Instead, the young son is called to fear the Lord and turn away from evil—to reject pride, honor God, and let wisdom shape his actions and relationships. True wisdom means knowing our limits, resisting self-deception, and allowing God’s commands to guide how we live, love, and lead.When we humbly submit to God’s wisdom, our entire being is renewed. Just as the umbilical cord nourishes a child in the womb, God’s truth sustains and strengthens every part of our lives. In turning from evil and trusting the Lord, we find restoration, vitality, and peace.
