The Embrace by R Aylor This makes me think of a husbands love for his wife. He should definitely prize her highly. He should praise her in public… He should show his love with a servants heart and embrace and cherish her always letting her know she is his delight. He should seek what is best for her in all things. If you genuinely treat her like a prized jewel she will honor and praise you. Once again the godly woman Wisdom becomes our great teacher. "Prize her highly" “embrace her”… Let Wisdom be your great treasure! In Matthew 13:44 Jesus told this insightful parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. This man found riches of the great value… gold and sliver so precious he wanted dearly to embrace… I imagine him saying to himself… “This is a treasure better than all the treasures of the world combined”. Then what did he do? What would you do? I would be quite a happy man! In my joy I would sell my house and car and all my guitars to have this treasure worth more than the world itself. That’s what he did… In joy he sold all he had… This is the wisdom of God that Proverbs points to… even God’s only Son Jesus. Today, it may be that God has awakened you to see Jesus as the treasure that he is… The good news, the pearl of great price… the one worth unclenching your grasp on the worlds treasures so you might embrace him and prize him highly. If you have faith to embrace him he will reward you with himself. Hebrews 11:6 says: And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Thank you Lord for your grace… It is not of our goodness or works or even our will… but you awaken us to see you as the greatest treasure and through faith we choose you because you have chosen us before the foundation of the world.
