She discusses her experience as a refugee from Iraq, the challenges of adapting to schooling in a new country and a new language, and the important role of mentors who helped her navigate her way to a master's degree in public health. She also discusses the importance of being a mentor herself and helping other students, particularly those from marginalized communities.
