Dalton Levi Eatherly, widely known online as "Chud the Builder," is a 28-year-old content creator from the Clarksville and Nashville areas of Tennessee. He has gained significant notoriety as a highly controversial livestreamer who actively seeks out confrontational interactions in public to generate viral content. His videos predominantly feature him aggressively approaching strangers—specifically targeting Black individuals—and hurling racial slurs, such as the N-word and references to monkeys or chimpanzees, to intentionally provoke a reaction. He frames his behavior around "America First" messaging, anti-woke politics, and the defense of free speech, which has garnered him a following of over 200,000 supporters while simultaneously drawing fierce criticism from those who view him as a dangerous provocateur who monetizes public harassment.His antagonistic behavior has led to a series of legal and public controversies. In November 2025, he was arrested on a harassment charge for allegedly forwarding his business calls to an unconsenting individual to alarm and annoy them. More recently, on May 9, 2026, he was arrested following an incident at a Nashville steakhouse. After staff asked him to stop livestreaming inside the restaurant, he allegedly became unruly, began yelling racial statements, and refused to pay a bill of nearly $400. This resulted in him being handcuffed on the sidewalk and charged with theft of services, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.Days later, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, his public provocations culminated in a violent altercation outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville. He was reportedly scheduled to be at the courthouse for a civil case involving a $3,300 debt owed to a credit company. A confrontation with an unidentified Black man resulted in gunfire, leaving both individuals injured and hospitalized in stable condition. Following the incident, a video surfaced of him asking paramedics if he had accidentally shot himself, though he claimed he acted in self-defense after being attacked.The legal fallout from these events has been complicated by his online crowdfunding efforts. A public defender officially withdrew from representing him, noting that he had raised over $40,000 online and was no longer considered indigent. The legal withdrawal was also prompted by false statements he made on social media regarding the public defender's office.In addition to his legal troubles, he has faced intense public scrutiny regarding his personal life. A Black trans content creator named Lily Venus recently came forward with allegations of a past sexual relationship with him, detailing intimate encounters and drug use. These claims went viral, with critics pointing out the stark contrast between his alleged private actions and his public, hyper-masculine, prejudiced persona.
