Ps Harry de Vries - "Twas The Week Before Christmas"

My mother had many Christmas traditions that she adhered to throughout her life from the way presents were handed out to the food we would eat. One particular year all of us children convinced our parents to let us open all the present a week early, what a great time it was until Christmas Day actually arrived, you can imagine how we felt and yes it never happened again. In Luke's Gospel Simeon was promised that he would see the Messiah and unlike us, he waited until he saw that promise fulfilled that not only showed the birth of Jesus but looked ahead to the salvation of mankind.
