Psalm 08: Everything Declares God’s Glory

The world hasn’t gotten darker, you might just be seeing it blurry. Psalm 8 is David at his most awake, staring at the night sky and realizing the obvious thing he somehow missed: God’s glory is everywhere, and God’s name is majestic across the whole earth. We walk through the full passage in the New Living Translation and let its images do what they were meant to do, pull our attention away from the nonstop noise and back toward worship.We talk about what it feels like to “put on glasses” spiritually, when you suddenly notice beauty that was there the whole time. From stars and moonlight to fish in the sea and the simple fact that you can breathe and think and feel, creation is constantly testifying. Psalm 8 also gives language for identity and purpose: we’re small compared to the universe, yet deeply cared for, honored by God, and entrusted with responsibility.
