Psalm 1: Pursuing the Blessed Life

Pastor Thomas Anderson explores the pursuit of true blessedness by contrasting the fleeting happiness of the world with the lasting joy found in God. We examine Psalm 1 to illustrate that the blessed life is characterized by a rejection of wicked counsel and a deep delight in God's law. Pastor Thomas argues that this spiritual rootedness finds its ultimate fulfillment in Jesus Christ, who perfectly embodies the righteous man described in the text. By taking refuge in Him, believers escape the judgment awaiting the wicked and gain an intimate relationship with God. The message calls listeners to examine their own visions of success and to reorient their lives toward divine felicity (happiness given by God) through faith in Christ.
