Psalm 100 - A Psalm for Thanksgiving - 11-25-23 - Tarzana

Psalm 100 is a unique psalm in that it is the only psalm among the 150 psalms that is specified to be a "Psalm for Giving Thanks" (vs.1). It's structure is laid out beautifully. In verses 1-2, we have three imperatives: "shout," "worship," and "come." Then in verse 4, we have three more imperatives: "enter," "give thanks," and "praise." Between these six imperatives, and we have another in verse 3 that links them all together, "know." The overall structure of the psalm is that we are to always be thankful for two primary reasons: 1. The LORD is God and as such, he is Creator (vs. 3). 2. The LORD is Good and as such, he is Redeemer (vs.5).
