Psalm 5: Pray With Your Voice and Walk Straight

If you want a relationship with Him throughout the day, you need to invite Him into your life each morning. David says he will pray in the morning with his voice (vs 2 & 3). If you don't let God direct your life and you don't seek to please Him, you will walk according to the world's wickedness. God will not dwell with you in the world's pleasures, because He has no pleasure in it (vs 4). God will not travel that road of sin with you. God hates all workers of iniquity. He does not just hate the action, but the person. Do you wake up planning to do wrong and to deceive? It is ridiculous for you to ask God to lead you as you live your way without Him as your Lord and king. You need God to lead you because your enemies seek to lead you away. We should not get our ethics from the world. They will tempt you and see to draw you away. They are your enemies (vs 8-9)! Good self-esteem is to consider yourself second to others. Paul said he was the chief of sinners. I am the chief of sinners! Oh who will deliver me? Rejoice not with a contrived joy that you have to be happy because you go to church, but rather a genuine joy because of who you are trusting in. Rejoice with a concept that you can wake up every day and know what is right and wrong; know who is on who's side; know your purpose; know who I can trust to direct your path. If you wake up with this psalm and prayer on your lips with the intention to walk the straight path to obey, you will have joy.
