Psalm 85; Revive us Again
from Blessing on SermonAudio Hosted by Rev. Peter McIntyre
This sermon explores Psalm 85 as a comprehensive prayer for spiritual renewal, structured around the past mercies of God, the present need for turning, and the future promise of restoration. The central message emphasizes that true revival is not merely an external event but a divine work that transforms the hearts of God's people, leading them to rejoice in His presence rather than in material blessings. The exposition highlights the theological foundation of revival in the cross, where mercy and truth meet, and righteousness and peace kiss, demonstrating that God's justice and grace coexist through Christ's atonement. The tone is both convicting and hopeful, urging the congregation to persist in prayer and faithfulness, recognizing that while revival cannot be planned, it is a guaranteed future reality for those who hold fast to God's promises. The sermon concludes with an urgent appeal for the church to seek this blood-bought blessing, trusting that God will revive His people to yield the fruit of righteousness.
