Psalm 95: A Call To Worship

Psalm 95. God has put evidence of who He is in creation for man to see His existence. Verse 1 is an invitation to come and sing to the Lord. You should not be ashamed and remain silent. In verse 2, he then lists some reasons that we should be singing to the Lord out of thanksgiving and joy. Verse 3, other religions have many gods and they do not stand against the one Living God. Verse 4-5, His creative power extends everywhere (deep places and highest heights). Verse 6, What do you do before someone of that power? You bow the knee with reverence and godly fear (Hebrew 12:29). What did it cost God to make man in His image (authority)? He made a perfect world, but man with choice made His perfect world destroyed, evil, spotted. Verse 7, God said He would be our shepherd and we His sheep. He will care for us, protect us, and provide for us. He is our shepherd, conditioned on if you will hear His voice. Verse 8, The rest of the psalm is God’s voice warning. God instructs the next generation not to be rebellious like their parents, testing God for 40 years, wandering in the wilderness, and who never saw the promised land.
