Psalm 97
from ARCC Sermons · host Roy Stokes
This summer we will preach through Psalm 93-105. While studying these Psalms, you will see several repeated themes. For example, this section (Psalms 93:1 and 104:1) begins and ends with the LORD clothed in splendor and majesty. From these passages, we will rejoice together as we worship the holy, majestic, glorious, eternal, righteous King of Kings as we declare His wondrous deeds throughout history. DNA Questions: Discover What are your thoughts when Psalm 97 proclaims “The LORD reigns”? From this Psalm, how would you describe His reign? Does this truth comfort or convict you? Both? How? Nurture Has Psalm 97 enlarged your view of God? If so, how? Is your hatred of evil stronger when you see it in others or in yourself? Act How would an increased sense of the majesty, splendor, and holiness of the LORD lead you to love Him more and make sin (rebellion) less attractive? How does the fact that the LORD’s light and joy have been “sown” in you increase your appreciation of Galatians 5:22 (The Fruit of the Spirit)?
