As we transition from 2025 into 2026, we find ourselves in a season of reflection and anticipation. Just as the Apostle Peter encouraged believers to remember the Lord’s past faithfulness while looking toward the future Kingdom, Psalm 98 serves as a bridge between what God has done and what He is yet to do. From a Calvary Chapel perspective, we approach this text with a focus on the finished work of Jesus Christ. The Hebrew word for victory used in this Psalm is “Yeshua,” which is the name of our Savior. When we sing of God’s victory, we are singing of the salvation found only in Jesus. This study explores how God’s righteousness is revealed to the nations and how His love and faithfulness to the house of Israel serve as an enduring proof of His character. We break down this Psalm into three distinct sections: The Subject of Praise: The wonders and victories of the Lord. The Manner of Praise: A call for a global orchestra featuring trumpets, lyres, and joyful shouting. The Extent of Praise: How all of creation—the seas, the rivers, and the mountains—will eventually join in a resounding chorus of worship. As Christians, our lives belong to Him; it is His breath in our lungs. Whether you are searching for a deeper understanding of the Bible, interested in the prophetic significance of Israel, or simply looking for encouragement in your walk with Jesus, this teaching highlights the grace and kindness of a God who invites us into His covenant. We discuss how the return of Christ will be like lightning, followed by the “reverb” or thunder of universal praise. This message serves as a reminder that God’s goodness is active and His strong arm of grace is moving in our lives today. We conclude by looking at how we can participate in what God is doing in the coming year, moving from a rehearsal of worship to the full performance of His glory. Join us as we study the Word of God together, verse by verse, and learn how to make our lives a melody that reflects the righteousness and fairness of our coming King.
