Psalms for the Summer, Week 4
from Austin Hills Church Podcast · host Austin Hills Church
St. Athanasius stated that "[The psalms] become like a mirror to the person singing them, so that he might perceive himself and the emotions of his soul." In Psalm 3 David is on the run from his son, Absalom. After he flees the palace, he writes a poem speaking of the full assurance that God would deliver him. This came from a deep life with God, the One who delivered him before and he believed God would deliver him again. We are continually challenged to trust God even when things look hopeless.
