PSOTU 2021 - The Opera Singer, Sage

Listen to the Peoples State Of The Union 2021 - Opera has been around since 1597 as a classical art form, although opera houses are closing all over the world. Audiences are becoming increasingly smaller (and older). Yet in the midst of CoVid19 and the transition to online performance, are Online Concerts The Future of Opera?  Today you will meet professional Opera Singer, Kamilah Sage a minority and unicorn in the classical music world. Sage moved from Texas to study at the Juilliard School, the world-famous conservatory for the arts and began her tutelage under Vincent La Selva. Sage has performed in Giovanni D’Arco and Verdi’s Requiem at Carnegie Hall, as well as, Ernani, UnBallo in Maschera, Otello , Tosca, Suor Angelica, and La Traviata which was all part of Central Park’s Summer. Sage also produced her own musical revue entitled “Bringing A Taste of Broadway To Brooklyn” in which she fused her love of opera, jazz, and Broadway styles together with a small orchestra.
