Psychedelics, Mysticism and the Non-conceptual Mind

from Marvellous Mind · host Marvellous Mind

Through the deconditioning of our habitual thought patterns, psychedelics can offer glimpses into a non-conceptual, spontaneous and intuitive way of engaging with the world, akin to an infant’s perception or the Zen concept of ‘shoshin’. What this speaks to is the primacy of direct experience, which so often is concealed by a hypnotic attachment of attention to the conceptual thinking mind. Building these bridges with the non-conceptual and the non-reflective, through these non-ordinary states of consciousness, can hold the potential for profound insight and personal growth. This video is not exhaustive on this topic and I hope in the future to develop these ideas further :) Timestamps: 00:00 - Infancy perception 02:20 - Psychedelics and the conceptual mind 05:16 - Mysticism and Psychedelics 09:42 - Ego dissolution and Unity experiences 12:57 - You are the mystery 15:48 - the experience of spaciousness Hope you enjoy! #psychedelic #mysticism #consciousness #meditation #mindfulness #nonduality #philosophy
